Setup guide
The following is a guide to setting up Emply to send emails from your domain.
Preparing for setup
To set up this integration, the following is required:
- Access to your DNS
Step 1 - Activating the integration.
To activate the integration, go to 'Settings' followed by 'Integrations'.
Find the "Own email domain" integration and click 'Activate'.
Afterwards the following window will open, where you will click on 'Add domain'.
Step 2 - Configuring the integration.
After you click 'Add domain' the following steps must be followed:
- First, fill in the domain you want to use in the 'Domain' field.
- Select 'Emply email server'.
- Press 'Register'.
Note: You MUST register your main domain and then afterward register your subdomains (if required) one-by-one since the provided DKIM and SPF record is generated for each of those.
Step 3 - Verify the domain.
Your domain is now registered in our email service, but to verify that you own the domain, we need to add the SPF and DKIM keys to your DNS.
These will automatically appear in the next window.
In case you already have an SPF record, you should update it with the include statement from above.
Step 4 - Validate DNS records.
After the required DNS records have been created, they must be validated before the integration can be used.
This is done by pressing 'Validate' under DKIM and SPF respectively:
After pressing 'Validate' a message will appear stating that these are validated and ready for use:
If it does not validate immediately, this may be because it takes a while for the DNS to update.
Once you have gone through all the steps above, you will
- have a noreply@yourdomain.com for
- be able to send mail from your own domain through Emply.
Recommended use
- Use 'noreply' mail for communicating with candidates as you want encrypted and safe communication in career center
- Use 'noreply' for communicating with employees if you want to keep communication and tasks within Emply HRM system
- Use 'personal' mail with precaution as you may encourage recipient to answer you in your personal inbox, which is not suited for personal data processing.
- In case you have a strict quarantine policy, please do add "smtp.danlon.dk" to your whitelist
